This impressive Georgian property has undergone an impressive transformation and has been one of Brooks and Gill’s most ambitious projects so far. This elegant period home has both been restored to its 18th century former grandeur as well being endowed with some stunning contemporary features.

The initial work on the property required a complete roof replacement and the removal of one of the chimneys to allow for a re-design of the kitchen/dining room space with patio doors being installed into the rear garden. The existing stone garden wall was demolished and re-built with expert mortar work in keeping with the overall style of the residence and the old double garage had a complete facelift to include a substantial living area. One of the most striking new features on this project was the addition of an impressive glass extension which is shown at it’s best in the above photos. On the exterior of the property the client chose a striking black limestone patio, matching the visual impact of the exterior wooden cladding work carried out on the external stair tower at the rear of the house. The floor of the basement was lowered to allow for the incorporation of a stylish home cinema space and the whole of the interior of the main house underwent refurbishment work including traditional carpentry and plastering techniques.

This project was a huge commitment for Brooks and Gill and required a cohesive and dedicated team of expert professionals. We extended our workforce to include the best master craftsmen available to ensure that the traditional work was accomplished to the highest of standards. The finished result is a masterpiece of traditional design and contemporary style, incorporating the tasteful grandeur of a Georgian home with stunning modern architectural features, making this a beautiful and enviable family home.

“All of Ben’s team worked extremely hard and were fully committed to realising the finished house within the projected timeline..”
