As with all our usual garden rooms, the building was created by first forming a series of concrete piles with low brick piers and then a timber frame. From that point onwards, it’s about timber all the way – a timber sub-floor, timber walls and a timber roof. In between all the timbers we added full insulation and insulated plasterboard to keep the finished room at the perfect temperature, whatever the weather outside.

The external walls of the garden room were then covered with contemporary larch cladding and fitted with complimentary dark grey windows. The inclusion of a stylish set of bi-fold doors, which open up fully into their lovely garden, set off the whole project perfectly – how better to bring the outside in on a beautiful summer’s day! The final touches came with the addition of the external grey composite decking with integrated subtle lighting, chosen together with the client, which successfully enhanced the fundamental beauty of the new space.
