Full loft conversion creates dream teen getaway..

Creating a teenager’s dream hang out space away from the family hub was a transformational and rewarding project which was up and running in less than 6 weeks. This project gave us a total blank canvas to work with and the finished result ticked every box for the teen (and his family) who wanted the living space re-arrangement for everyone’s sanity!

The works consisted of stripping off the old roof and timbers, then inserting steel beams to form the new floor and ridge. Once the new roof was pitched, we constructed a large timber dormer to the back which allowed for the creation of a much more spacious layout. A new timber suspended floor was fitted, along with timber stud walls and a new entry staircase. And finally the all important insulation was added between the floors for warmth and of course sound proofing. 

The loft room was divided internally to allow for an attached contemporary bathroom, as well as a generous sized sleeping space. The velux windows at the front open up to a sunny garden view and the roof was re-tiled in keeping with the existing style with the gable end and dormer clad in a new vertical tile.
